A concerned Nigerian mother has raised alarm over reports of congealed milk products, calling on FrieslandCampina WAMCO, the manufacturer of Peak Milk, Three Crown and other dairy brands, to address consumers’ concerns.
In a viral video, the woman said many Nigerian families had trusted the company’s products for decades and were now worried about what they were giving their children.
She appealed to the company to listen to mothers who had raised concerns about milk products allegedly becoming congealed after opening.
“We are asking questions instead of simply walking away. And we deserve answers as loyal customers who have been around and have trusted without asking any questions.”
The woman said consumers had initially considered the possibility that some of the affected products could be counterfeit.
“At some point we’re making excuses for you that it could be some people making fake of your product. But now we have come to realise besides the fake that is in the market, most of these products that have been opened and have gone bad are original products from your brand.”
She also called on the company to clarify whether the change in the consistency of the products was normal or whether affected products would be recalled.
“If you tell us this is the new look of this milk and they are healthy even though they are congealed, we will listen. If you tell us you are on top of this matter and you’re making sure that you retrieve everything that is in the market, we will listen and we’ll be patient.”
The concerned mother further urged the company to respond promptly, saying its silence was increasing consumers’ frustration.
“Your silence is not helping. It is rather making us angry because we are feeling ignored.”
She concluded by asking FrieslandCampina WAMCO to investigate the concerns raised by consumers and provide answers to Nigerian families.
