A Nigerian employee who started selling homemade Indomie and eggs to colleagues during lunch got the surprise of his life when his CEO caught him cooking at the back of the office.
According to a former colleague who shared the experience, the man had bought cooking gas, a carton of Indomie and eggs after explaining that he needed extra income.
His colleagues sympathised with him and began patronising the small food business. Within the first week, he reportedly sold more than two cartons of noodles.
CEO catches employee cooking noodles
The colleague said the noodles quickly became popular among staff, describing them as some of the best he had ever tasted.
However, everything changed one day when the CEO arrived at the office unannounced and found the employee preparing Indomie behind the building.
The employee reportedly became extremely frightened, while his colleagues feared he could lose his job for running a side business on company premises.
But the CEO’s reaction left everyone surprised.
Rather than reprimanding him, the CEO asked the employee to prepare noodles for every member of staff that day. He also asked how much the ingredients would cost and paid the bill himself.
Boss gives unexpected support
According to the narrator, the CEO explained that the employee was performing his actual duties well, so he had no issue with him earning extra money on the side.
The unexpected response turned what could have been an awkward workplace incident into a memorable show of support.
