Operatives of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) have uncovered large consignment of military uniforms alongside high-grade cannabis valued at N259.68 million inside a luxury bus without a registration number along the Idiroko border corridor of Ogun State.
This was revealed by the Acting Customs Area Controller, Deputy Comptroller of Customs (DC) Oladapo Afeni at the Command’s headquarters in Idiroko on Monday, 25 May 2026.
Afeni said the seizure of military uniforms is particularly worrying because of the current security situation in the country.
He noted that unauthorised possession of such uniforms is often linked to impersonation, where criminals disguise themselves as security personnel to commit crimes or facilitate the movement of contraband undetected,” Afeni said.

DC Afeni urged residents to provide timely information to help keep communities safe.
“Through dedication and stronger synergy with sister agencies, we are committed to tackling the dual threats of smuggling and insecurity head-on,” he said.
In line with inter-agency collaboration, the intercepted cannabis was handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Idiroko Special Area Command.
Receiving the items, the Deputy Commander of Narcotics, Ganiyu Adeyoye, described the seizure as a major breakthrough.
“This one is particularly notable because suspects were involved, which means that those involved will be brought to justice,” he said.
