Dangote: FG reforms restoring investor confidence, boosting economy

President and Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, has said the Federal Government’s economic reforms are beginning to strengthen investor confidence and improve Nigeria’s business environment.

Dangote said the fiscal, monetary and regulatory measures introduced by the government were contributing to greater macroeconomic stability, improved industrial productivity and renewed interest in the Nigerian economy.

He made the remarks while assessing the impact of the reforms on businesses and the broader economy.

According to him, the emerging improvements demonstrate the importance of maintaining consistent and market-oriented economic policies.

“The economic reforms being implemented by the Federal Government are beginning to yield tangible results. We are witnessing improved economic activity, stronger investor confidence, increased industrial productivity, and a more resilient business environment,” Dangote said.

He said the reforms had created a more predictable environment for businesses, particularly manufacturers and other capital-intensive industries whose operations are important to economic diversification, job creation and foreign exchange earnings.

Dangote commended the government for pursuing reforms despite the challenges associated with major economic adjustments, saying their benefits were becoming increasingly visible through improved economic indicators and stronger business confidence.

“We commend the Federal Government for its courage and determination in implementing reforms that are essential for economic transformation. While every reform process comes with initial challenges, the benefits are increasingly evident in stronger economic indicators, improved business confidence, and renewed investor interest in Nigeria,” he said.

The businessman also linked the growth and operations of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals complex to what he described as a more supportive policy environment.

He said policies promoting domestic refining, reducing dependence on imports, improving energy security and encouraging local value addition had supported the facility’s development.

“The progress being recorded at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals complex is closely linked to a policy environment that encourages investment, supports domestic industrialisation, and promotes self-sufficiency,” Dangote said.

He added that the refinery’s expanding production and export activities were contributing to the economy through foreign exchange generation, employment and the development of local supply chains.

Dangote said the Dangote Group remained committed to investing in strategic sectors and supporting industrial development through innovation and job creation.

“Our vision has always been to support Nigeria’s economic development through transformative investments,” he said, citing the group’s refinery, petrochemical, fertiliser and other industrial operations as part of efforts to build a more self-reliant economy.

He expressed optimism that sustained reforms and greater cooperation between government and the private sector would attract more foreign direct investment and strengthen Nigeria’s position as an investment destination.

“Nigeria is on the path to becoming one of the world’s leading industrial and economic powers. With continued policy consistency, robust private-sector participation, and investment-led growth, the future of our economy is exceptionally bright,” Dangote said.
