A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after sharing her marital struggle following a tragic family accident involving her husband’s relatives.
The story was shared on Facebook by Auntie Momoza, where the woman asked for advice on whether her response to her husband’s decision was wrong.
Family Tragedy
According to her, her husband’s mother, sisters, and grandmother all died in a car accident while returning from a funeral.
She explained that the tragedy left behind four young children, aged between 2 and 6 years, with no close relatives to care for them.
Husband Proposes Bringing Kids Home, Wife Rejects
She said her husband decided to bring the children into their home for care, but she objected, explaining that she already has a child and cannot handle the responsibility of four additional kids.
She advised him to consider an orphanage or distant relatives instead.
Husband Moves Back to Family House
Following the disagreement, she said her husband moved back to the family house to take care of the children himself.
Since then, she claimed he has stopped communicating with her directly, only sending money every Friday and avoiding phone calls.
Wife Seeks Advice Over Her Decision
The woman expressed confusion and emotional distress over the situation, asking if her response was wrong and whether she handled the matter properly.
In her words: “Please keep me anonymous. My husband’s sisters, mother and grandmother passed away in a car accident on their way from a funeral. My sisters left behind 4 kids aged between 2 and 6 years.
My husband does not have other close relatives other than the ones who perished in the accident. Now he wants to take the children to stay with us.
I told him I only have one child and do not have any energy to take care of 4 more kids. I advised him to take them to an orphanage or distant relatives.
Ever since that conversation he moved back to the family house to take care of his sisters’ children, leaving me alone with our child.
He doesn’t call or take my calls. He only sends money to me every Friday.
