A prominent broadcaster and former Managing Director of Abubakar Rimi Television (ARTV) and Radio Kano, Alhaji Adamu Ibrahim Getso, has passed away at the age of 75.
Family sources said the veteran media administrator died on Saturday following a prolonged illness.

SolaceBase reports that Getso, who hailed from Getso town in Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State, was widely respected for his decades-long service to the broadcasting industry and his role in promoting public communication in the state.
During his distinguished career, he served as Managing Director of Abubakar Rimi Television during the first administration of former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. He was later appointed Managing Director of the Kano State Radio Corporation during Kwankwaso’s second tenure in office.
Getso earned widespread recognition as a presenter of several influential Hausa-language programmes, notably Hukuma da Jama’a (Government and the People) and Aiki Sai Mai Shi, which focused on government policies, public affairs, and development initiatives.

Colleagues, associates, and admirers have paid tribute to him, describing him as a committed professional whose contributions helped shape the growth and development of radio and television broadcasting in Kano State.
The late broadcaster is survived by wives, children, grandchildren, and other relatives.
