A former Kano State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Lamin Sani, popularly known as Khadimul Ummati, has submitted his letter of intent to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Nassarawa Federal Constituency.
Dr. Sani presented the letter at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Secretariat in Nassarawa Local Government Area on Thursday, April 30, 2026, formally joining the race ahead of the next general elections.
SolaceBase reports that his move marks a continuation of his long-standing involvement in grassroots administration and state governance in Kano State, particularly in Nassarawa Local Government Area.

Before his appointment, he was elected chairman of Nassarawa Local Government for two terms, during which he played key roles in local administration.
He also served as Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Kano State chapter, coordinating the activities of local government councils across the state.
In addition, he held the position of Special Adviser to the Kano State Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
The Nassarawa Federal Constituency seat is expected to witness increased political activity in the coming months as parties begin to position their candidates ahead of the elections.
