According to a report by The Sun, on Saturday July 11, 2026, Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, has stated that the South East should not be regarded as the political stronghold of former Anambra State Governor and NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
Umahi argued that Obi’s political influence in the South East has been overstated, according to him, the voting pattern witnessed during the 2023 presidential election does not accurately reflect the long-term political reality of the region.
