The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has appealed to members of the public for information that could help reunite a six-year-old boy, Haneem Hussaini Bello, with his family.
According to a statement issued on Friday by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the child said he travelled to Abuja from Bauchi State with his mother and siblings for the summer break.
The boy reportedly said the family had gone to the Central Mosque for Juma’a prayer when he became separated from his mother and siblings and could no longer locate them.
Haneem was later found wandering around NNPC Towers in the Central Business District at about 3:00 p.m. on September 4, 2026, while crying.
At the time he was found, he was wearing carton-coloured trousers and a brown shirt with black and white stripes on the left side.
The Police Command said the child is currently in police custody as efforts continue to locate his parents or relatives and reunite him with his family.
The Command urged anyone with useful information that could assist in identifying or locating the boy’s parents or relatives to report to the nearest police station.
