Four people suffered gunshot wounds during an early-morning shooting in Sacramento, California.
Police found three injured women near Cucamonga Avenue and Ramona Avenue in the Granite Regional Park area at about 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2026.
Emergency workers took two of the women to hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The third woman received treatment at the scene for minor injuries.
A short time later, officers responded to a vehicle crash near Folsom Boulevard and State University Drive.
They found a man inside the area who had also suffered a gunshot wound.
Emergency workers took him to hospital. Police said his injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Both locations are near California State University, Sacramento.
Hours earlier, university police received reports of gunfire inside Parking Structure III during a football game at Hornet Stadium.
The university ordered people near the stadium to shelter in place while officers searched the area.
The football game continued during the emergency response.
University officials later said officers detained a suspect and found no injured people.
Sacramento police have not established a connection between the campus gunfire and the later shooting that injured four people.
No suspect information has been released in connection with the shooting near Granite Regional Park.
The investigation continues.
