An Amazon cargo plane crashed near Miami International Airport on Sunday, September 6, 2026.
The Boeing 767 had arrived from San Juan, Puerto Rico, shortly before the accident.
The incident happened at about 2 p.m. local time.
Videos showed the aircraft lying across a road near the airport. Flames and thick black smoke rose from part of the plane.
Cars and trucks stopped near the crash site as emergency crews responded.
Other footage appeared to show the aircraft leaving the runway during landing. Authorities had not confirmed exactly how the plane reached the road.
The aircraft remained mostly intact despite the fire and visible damage.
Airport officials ordered a ground stop following the crash. The restriction temporarily prevented other planes from departing.
Early social media posts claimed that people suffered injuries. However, officials had not confirmed the number of people on board or released reliable information about injuries when the initial report was published.
The cause of the crash remains unknown.
Aviation authorities are expected to investigate the aircraft, its flight information, weather conditions and the actions of the crew.
