FUD elevates 21 academics to Professorial carde, 27 Readers

The Federal University Dutse (FUD)  in Jigawa State has approved the promotion of twenty-one (21) Academic Staff to the rank of Professor and twenty-seven (27) to the rank of Reader with effect from 1st October, 2025.

The 4th Governing Council of the university gave the approval at its 8th Regular Meeting held on Thursday, 7th May, 2026, where it considered the report and recommendations from the Appointments and Promotions Committee (Academic).

This was contained in a statement issued by the university’s acting Director Public Affairs, Malam Abdullahi Yahaya Bello, on Friday in Dutse.

According to the statement, those promoted to Professorial carde include Dr. Umar Mukhtar, Professor of Agricultural Economics, Dr.  Aliyu Abdurrahaman, Professor of Agricultural Economics, Dr. Gama Emmanuel Nkwi, Professor of Agricultural Economics, Dr. Bashir Garba Muktar, Professor of Agricultural Extension, Dr. Ado Garba, Professor of Agricultural Extension, Dr. Danmaigoro Olarenwaju, Professor of Agronomy Dr. Ibrahim Sanusi Chinade, Professor of Literature in English, Dr. Nasiruddeen Ibrahim Ahmad, Professor of Arabic Linguistics, Dr.  Philip N. Ndubueze, Professor of Sociology in area of (Criminology and Security Studies)  and Dr. Lamidi Kamal Olaniyi, Professor of Political Science in area of (Nigerian Government and Politics).
