FULL LIST: 18 Presidential Candidates To Contest Nigeria’s 2027 Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the final list of candidates for the presidential and National Assembly elections scheduled for January 2027.

The list contains 18 political parties contesting the presidential election, with each party presenting its presidential and vice-presidential candidates.

According to the list signed by Rose Oriaran-Anthony, Secretary of the Commission, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is seeking re-election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is contesting under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Below are the 18 presidential candidates for the 2027 election:

1. APC — Bola Tinubu / Kashim Shettima
President Bola Tinubu, 74, is the APC presidential candidate, with Vice President Kashim Shettima, 59, as his running mate.

2. ADC — Atiku Abubakar / Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, 79, is the ADC candidate, with former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, 61, as his running mate.

3. NDC — Peter Gregory Obi / Musa Mohammed Rabiu Kwankwaso
Former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, 65, is contesting under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), with former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, 69, as his running mate.

4. LP — Sunday Chibuzo Okereke / Hajja Bintu Konto
The Labour Party (LP) is fielding Sunday Chibuzo Okereke, 43, alongside Hajja Bintu Konto, 54.

5. PDP — Sandy Ojang Onor / Umaru Babangida
Sandy Ojang Onor, 60, is the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with Umaru Babangida, 61, as his running mate.

6. AA — Rufai Adekunle Omo-Aje / Shehu Hussaini
The Action Alliance (AA) is represented by Rufai Adekunle Omo-Aje and Shehu Hussaini.

7. ADP — Aliyu Abbas-Bin / Chinazam Ike
The Alliance for Democracy and Progress (ADP) is fielding Aliyu Abbas-Bin and Chinazam Ike.

8. APP — Kabiru Yusuf / Peace Egobia Ofordile
Kabiru Yusuf is the presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Party (APP), with Peace Egobia Ofordile as his running mate.

9. AAC — Omoyele Sowore / Haruna Garba Magashi
The African Action Congress (AAC) is fielding Omoyele Sowore and Haruna Garba Magashi.

10. APM — Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde / Musa Lawal Daura
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, 58, is contesting under the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), with Musa Lawal Daura as his running mate.

11. BP — Sunday Adenuga / Usman Turaki Mustapha
Sunday Adenuga and Usman Turaki Mustapha are the candidates of the BP.

12. DLA — Moses Olusoji Adebisi / Nafisat Usaku Abubakar

Adewole Ebenezer Adebayo is contesting under the Social Democratic Party (SDP), alongside Usman Muhammed Bugaje.

The Young Progressive Party (YPP) is fielding Peter Ada Agada and Patience Ndidi Key.

18. ZLP — Daniel Daberechukwu Nwanyanwu / Hassan Khalid
Daniel Daberechukwu Nwanyanwu is the presidential candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), with Hassan Khalid as his running mate.

The presidential election is scheduled for Saturday, January 16, 2027, alongside the National Assembly elections.
