Tottenham had the first notable chance of the game in the fifth minute when Jan Paul van Hecke connected with Andy Robertson’s free-kick at the back post.

Everton gradually grew into the game and looked the more threatening side, particularly after the interval.
The hosts came close to breaking the deadlock five minutes into the second half when Thierno Barry met a cross with a close-range header.
Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky reacted quickly to make a crucial save with his face and keep the scores level.
Kinsky was again required to rescue Spurs in the 65th minute after his attempted pass out from the back went straight to Everton midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Dewsbury-Hall appeared poised to capitalise on the error, but Kinsky recovered in time to block the midfielder’s effort with his leg.
Tottenham failed to create a decisive opening in the closing stages as Everton held on for a share of the points.
The draw leaves Spurs with just two points from their first four league games and 17th in the Premier League table, only one point above the relegation zone.
Everton, meanwhile, remain unbeaten and occupy seventh place as their impressive start to the campaign continues.
