FULL LIST: NDC consensus candidates for Kano ahead of 2027 elections

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has released its list of consensus candidates for the 2027 general elections in Kano State, naming former Deputy Governor Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo as its governorship candidate.

According to the list issued by the party in Kano, former Deputy Governor Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna emerged as the consensus candidate for the Kano Central Senatorial District, while Engr. Sunusi Usman Dambatta and Kasim Ibrahim Bataiya were picked for Kano North and Kano South Senatorial Districts, respectively.

SolaceBase reports that the party also unveiled its candidates for the 24 House of Representatives seats in the state. Among the notable names are former House of Representatives member Mustapha Bala Dawaki for Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency, Aminu Sulaiman Goro for Fagge, and retired Assistant Vice Marshal Ibrahim Umar for Dala Federal Constituency, among others.

In addition, the party released the names of its 40 consensus candidates for the Kano State House of Assembly.

The list features a mix of politicians, professionals, retired security officers, and technocrats selected to contest the various state constituencies across Kano.

Among those nominated are Sani Shehu Ibrahim for Ajingi, Yakubu Yusuf Baita for Albasu, Dr. Nura Jafar for Bagwai/Shanono, Ali Muhammad Adakawa for Dala, Abdulkadir Ahmad Getso (rtd.) for Gwarzo, and Alkasim Hussaini for Wudil State Constituency.
