The General Officer Commanding 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander, Operation Enduring Peace, Major General Maxwell Dangana, has temporarily relocated his operational base from Jos to Mangu to lead efforts to restore normalcy following the recent surge in insecurity.
The move comes barely 24 hours after suspected bandits killed 24 people in an attack on a community in Mangu Local Government Area.
Addressing troops on the ground, Major General Dangana announced the launch of “Operation Hard Nut,” a renewed military offensive aimed at dismantling criminal elements, securing vulnerable communities and restoring peace across Mangu and other areas under the Joint Operation Area.
The GOC charged troops to remain resolute, professional and decisive in confronting threats to lives and property, assuring residents of intensified military presence and operations.
