Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has appointed Alhaji Shehu Baraya as the new Head of the state Civil Service.
The appointment, announced by the Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, takes immediate effect.
Baraya succeeds Alhaji Yakubu Sani Haidara, who recently retired after years of service in the state civil service.
The new Head of Service is a career civil servant with extensive experience in public administration. He has served as Permanent Secretary in several ministries and was, until his appointment, Permanent Secretary at the Zamfara State Civil Service Commission.
Governor Lawal commended the outgoing Head of Service for his contributions to the development of the state civil service and wished him a fulfilling post-service life.
The governor charged Baraya to use his experience to strengthen professionalism and discipline, improve productivity and enhance efficiency across the civil service.
He said the appointment was in line with the administration’s Rescue Agenda for the state.
