The Oyo State Police Command has arrested two suspected drug peddlers and recovered eight parcels of weeds suspected to be Canadian Loud concealed inside a car tyre.
The police spokesperson in Oyo state, Olayinka Ayanlade revealed that the suspects were arrested following intelligence received by the Command on September 2, 2026, about the activities of a suspected drug dealer at a vulcanising workshop.
According to him, acting on the information, the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, CP Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, directed operatives of the Anti-Narcotics Section to move to the location.
He added that the operatives, with the assistance of the vulcaniser, recovered the suspected illicit drugs concealed inside a car tyre and arrested two suspects.

A vulcanising machine allegedly used to conceal the substances was also recovered as an exhibit.
The Police said preliminary investigation showed that the suspects confessed to their involvement and are currently assisting detectives with the ongoing investigation.
The Command said the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of the investigation, while efforts were ongoing to apprehend other members of the alleged syndicate.
The Oyo State Police Command said the operation formed part of its intelligence-led efforts to disrupt drug trafficking and other criminal networks across the state.
It noted that the proliferation of illicit drugs could fuel criminal activities, including cultism, robbery, kidnapping and other forms of organised crime.
The Command urged members of the public to continue providing credible and timely information to security agencies to assist in the fight against crime and criminality.
