Gujarat woman shot dead at Virginia supermarket, disturbing CCTV footage captures entire attack

An Indian woman from Gujarat was shot dead during a suspected robbery attempt at a supermarket in the United States, leaving her family and local community in deep shock. Indian woman killed during suspected robbery

According to officials and the victim’s family, Meghnaben Patel originally belonged to Jantral village in Visapur district of Gujarat’s Mehsana region. She had been living and working in Virginia for the last 10 years. Her parents, Karsanbhai Patel and Kapilaben, still live in Gujarat.

The incident reportedly took place inside a supermarket where Meghnaben was working. Local authorities reached the spot soon after receiving information and immediately sealed the area for investigation. Police believe the shooting may have been linked to a robbery attempt.

CCTV footage captures brutal attack

Disturbing CCTV footage from the supermarket has revealed key details about the incident. The video shows a man wearing animal-print track pants and a grey jacket entering the nearly empty store with his face covered.

The suspect approaches the counter and briefly speaks to Meghnaben Patel. Moments later, he pulls out a gun from his pocket and shoots at her. The footage shows Meghnaben collapsing behind the counter while the attacker jumps over and allegedly fires additional shots before fleeing the store.

Investigators are now examining the footage closely to identify and arrest the accused.

Family mourns tragic loss

Meghnaben Patel is survived by her husband, Upendrabhai Patel, daughter Nakshiben and son Smith. Her death has triggered grief among relatives in both India and the United States.

Authorities in Virginia have launched a manhunt for the attacker, while members of the Indian community have demanded strict action and justice for the victim.
