Popular skit maker and actress KieKie, whose real name is Bukunmi Adeaga Ilori, has opened up about cohabiting with her husband, Tunji Ilori, for about four months before their wedding.
Speaking in an interview with Toke Makinwa, she explained that the decision was based on practicality.
With her rent set to expire in September and their traditional rites already completed ahead of a January white wedding, she opted not to renew her lease for a short period.
KieKie also noted that despite living together, both she and her husband were heavily occupied with work and frequent travels, meaning they rarely spent much time at home.
“Before my husband and I got married, we lived together for about four months. My rent had expired, and we were getting married in January, so I said to myself, ‘Why pay another rent?’ People might judge it, but I wasn’t going to waste money. We’d already done our introduction. The church didn’t know about it, and I used to sing in church that time,” she remarked.
According to her, the period of cohabitation did not reveal anything new about her partner, as their busy schedules limited the experience.
