A lady has recounted an unforgettable experience from her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) days when she unexpectedly received ₦770,000 instead of the ₦77,000 allowance she was expecting.
The lady, identified online as Glowrites, revealed that she had never shared the experience with anyone, including her parents.
According to her, she initially checked the credit alert repeatedly in disbelief before showing the unexpected payment to her roommate, who was equally stunned.

The lady disclosed that the incident happened at a particularly difficult financial period, making the unexpected money even more tempting.
She recalled, “I was broke that time o, Very broke. So seeing ₦770k sitting in my account was looking like God had finally remembered me.”
She admitted that she began considering what she could do with the money before eventually confronting the reality that it did not belong to her.
The lady said, “Then I remembered something. This money wasn’t mine.”
She subsequently decided to return the excess money despite her financial situation at the time.

Looking back on the experience, the former corps member said the incident taught her an important lesson about honesty when faced with temptation.
She reflected, “It was one of those moments where you realise that being honest is easy until there’s something very tempting sitting right in front of you”
Although she still remembers the ₦770,000, she maintained that she ultimately chose to return money that was not hers.
