Popular content creator Emmanuel Obruste, widely known as Gehgeh, has sparked fresh reactions online after announcing that he added N5 million to the N1 million already donated by Nigerians to his younger sister, Precious.
In a recent video shared online, Gehgeh confirmed that the total support for his sister now stands at N6 million, stating that the funds are meant to help her establish herself.
Gehgeh Confirms N5m Transfer
Speaking in the video, Gehgeh appreciated Nigerians for their support and revealed that his manager was present to process the transfer immediately.
“I just sent N5m to my sister in addition to the N1m contribution,” he said, confirming that the transaction was successful during the recording.
Sets Conditions for Sister
Gehgeh, however, made it clear that the financial support comes with expectations.
He instructed his sister to give a monthly account of how she spends the N6 million and urged her to become financially stable within a year.
He also challenged her to support other family members after establishing herself.
Defends His Role as Family Provider
Addressing the ongoing controversy, Gehgeh insisted that he has always supported his family long before gaining public attention.
He shared personal experiences of hustling from a young age and claimed he had consistently assisted his siblings financially, including covering medical expenses for a family member.
According to him, being a provider comes with pressures many people do not understand until they are in that position.
In his words:
“First of all, I want to appreciate everybody who contributed money for that my younger sister, Precious. So far, they’ve raised N1 million for her. And in addition, I want to add my own extra N5 million to make the total money be 6 million to establish my younger sister.
Before I continue with the video, my manager is here with me he’ll do the transfer now. N5 million successfully sent.
Now, stop giving women money. Your girlfriend no be your responsibility. I stand on these principles till tomorrow. Your girlfriend is not your responsibility. It her father, her sisters and her brother’s responsibility.
You see, I am a kind of person who carries family for head right from when I dey small. I don support family.
Precious, you owe Nigeria a responsibility now. Every month I want you to give account of what you do with the N6 million when Nigerians and me contribute for your life.
Then in the next one year, establish yourself to the point wey be say you go dey help in the family activities. The two younger ones wey follow you now Wetin you go fit do for them after one year.
Me, I carry family responsibility right from when I was small. My manager na my classmate, we dey hustle together from farm work days.
I don support Precious before she run leave work. I also paid over 5 million Naira for my elder brother’s hospital operation.
My two younger ones I dey send them money. Even Precious and my brothers, I credit them N30k–N100k as normal family love.
But women get mentality of wanting things and if you no give, dem fit try destroy you. Some people get that mindset.
Make una understand say I dey do this from love, not hate.
I beg una make una support my sister account, no dey report am again. I buy her phone to help her do social media.
Stop giving women money. Your girlfriend not be your responsibility. Let her work and take care of herself.
Family first, but your well-being matters too.
I be financial expert, I dey manage money carefully. If I give you money today, no mean say tomorrow you go demand again.
I will continue supporting my family, but not my all.
Many people dey talk until you become provider, you no go understand.
I no get family member wey don send me money before, but I still dey support them. We thank God for everything…”
