“I will be the next Governor of Abia state” — Doris Ogala vows to defeat rivals despite power crisis

Doris Ogala, the African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate in Abia State, has declared that she is confident of becoming the state’s next governor, insisting that nothing can stop her ambition.

Ogala, who is associated with the political movement of presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore, said she believes she is better qualified than other contenders for the position.

She also spoke about her experience living in Abia State, drawing attention to what she described as a prolonged electricity problem affecting her family home.

Ogala speaks on life without electricity

The AAC candidate said she had spent three months in Abia and claimed that she had experienced a lack of electricity during the period.

Ogala said, “I will be the next Governor of Abia state and nothing can stop me.”

She explained that her confidence was based on her belief that she was better than the other candidates seeking to govern the state.

Ogala added, “I have been in Abia for 3 months now, no light. I sleep in my family house and we don’t have light.”

Abia governorship ambition draws attention

Her comments have drawn attention to both her gubernatorial ambition and the electricity situation she says she encountered while staying in the state.

The statement also places electricity supply among the issues Ogala appears determined to highlight as she campaigns for the governorship.

The 2027 Abia governorship contest is expected to attract competing candidates and political interests as parties prepare for the election.

Ogala’s declaration, however, signals her determination to pursue the position despite the challenges she says she has observed in the state.
