The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for candidates offered admission from 2021 to date to accept or reject their outstanding admission offers.
The new deadline is September 30, 2026, following the earlier deadline of August 31 announced by the Board.
JAMB spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, saying the extension was to give affected candidates a final opportunity to regularise their admission status.
According to him, the extension covers outstanding regular and CUIIA admission offers.

Candidates who accept their offers will be able to print and collect their admission letters, while those who reject them will have their profiles reverted to “Not Admitted” status.
The Board said the process would enable it to update its records and maintain accurate national admission data.
JAMB also clarified that candidates who are no longer attending the institutions where they were previously offered admission, or who have changed programmes, can accept the outstanding offer and subsequently apply for the appropriate correction or deletion, where applicable.
Similarly, candidates currently pursuing a second degree but who still have an unaccepted previous admission offer may reject the earlier offer and continue with their current programme.
The Board assured candidates who secured admission during the 2026 admission exercise but still have an earlier outstanding offer that rejecting the previous offer would not affect their current admission.
JAMB, however, stressed that the extension was the final opportunity for affected candidates to take action.
“There will be no further extension after 30 September 2026,” the Board warned.
It added that all outstanding admission offers from 2021 to date that remain neither accepted nor rejected at the expiration of the deadline would automatically revert to “Not Admitted” status in its records.
JAMB urged all affected candidates to take advantage of the extension and avoid waiting until the final day.
The Board warned that failure to accept an admission offer within the stipulated period would render the offer invalid.
