Dickson Iroegbu, a chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) ascended to power with the sole objective of securing control rather than implementing a roadmap for national development.
Speaking during an interview on the Mic on Podcast on Saturday, July 4, 2026, Iroegbu criticized the ruling party, asserting that it lacked any genuine vision to improve the Nigerian state, unify its diverse populace, or build an egalitarian nation. He contrasted this with the legacy of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which he argued held a deliberate and coherent strategy for national integration throughout its years in office.
Iroegbu said, “APC came on board just to do one thing; capture power. They had no plans to better the Nigerian state, no plan to unify the country, no plan to make Nigeria an egalitarian nation.
