JUST IN: PDP; Supreme Court Deliver Judgment Against Wike Faction Yet INEC Continue To Work With Them—Abubakar

According to a report by Daily Post, on Friday July 3, 2026, a Kaduna-based lawyer, Al-zubayr Abubakar, has questioned the neutrality of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), saying recent developments involving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have raised concerns about the electoral body’s independence.

‎Abubakar argued that public confidence in the commission could be affected if its actions appear to contradict court decisions, he pointed to the lingering leadership dispute within the PDP as an example of why some Nigerians are beginning to question the commission’s impartiality.

‎According to the lawyer, the controversy surrounding the party has continued despite a Supreme Court judgment that he said went against the faction linked to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, he expressed concern that INEC still recognizes and engages with that faction, a situation he believes has created doubts about the commission’s commitment to fairness..CONTINUE FULL READING>>>
