Popular Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has reacted to the reported abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, expressing concern over what she described as the slow pace of public attention to the incident.
In a post shared on social media, the music star said she only became aware of the kidnapping after seeing a post by fellow artiste Spyro, noting that the matter had not gained enough visibility online.
“This kidnapping incident that happened in Oyo State, I’m just seeing it lately after Spyro’s post came up. The issue is not trending enough as it should,” she said.
Tiwa Savage further expressed concern about the limited conversation surrounding the incident, saying she had to reach out to several people to understand the situation better since it was not appearing on her timeline.
“I reached out to a couple of people to figure out what, you know, to get this the backstory because it wasn’t coming up on my timeline. It’s not trending enough. It’s not trending as much as it should,” she added.
She also referenced a post by media personality Kiekie, noting that the incident reportedly happened almost two weeks ago.
The reported abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State has continued to generate concern from Nigerians across social media, with calls for urgent action to secure their release.
