Kenneth Okonkwo has said that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition was left in confusion after Peter Obi left the party, forcing leaders to begin searching for another possible vice-presidential candidate from the South-East. Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Okonkwo said he had always wanted the best for Obi and believed the former Anambra State governor should first contest for the coalition’s presidential ticket.
According to him, if Obi had won the presidential primary, everyone in the coalition would have supported him. However, if he had lost, Okonkwo insisted that the vice-presidential position should have been reserved for him because the South-East needed strong representation in the coalition.
