Kenneth Okonkwo, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has opened up on his decision to part ways with former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and align with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Okonkwo said his decision was driven by his belief that Atiku recognized his value and political relevance, unlike Obi, whom he accused of betraying his trust. The former spokesperson for the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign made the remarks on Thursday during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, barely 24 hours after his appointment as spokesperson for Atiku.
