Two of the four outbound lanes at the Kara Bridge exit towards the OPIC turning have been completed as part of the ongoing expansion works.

The update means two of the four Lagos-bound lanes have now been completed, with the newly laid concrete expected to dry and harden before work begins on the remaining two lanes.

For the next phase, traffic will be streamlined onto the two newly completed lanes on the left-hand side of the bridge, which are the fast lanes.

Construction work will then commence on the two lanes currently being used by motorists on the right-hand side, designated as the slow lanes.

Traffic movement along the corridor remains normal, according to the latest update.

Motorists have been advised to drive cautiously and comply with the directives of traffic management officials as the construction progresses.

This is however without prejudice to accidents, vehicle breakdowns or other unexpected developments.
