Miss World Nigeria 2026, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, will represent Nigeria at the Miss World grand finale in Nha Trang, Vietnam, on Saturday.
The 26-year-old beauty queen unveiled two outfits ahead of the competition, drawing inspiration from Nigeria’s national identity and her Niger Delta heritage.
Karibi-George revealed her final evening gown in a post on Instagram, describing the green, white and green outfit as a symbol of national pride.
“Green, white and green — tonight, I wear home,” she wrote.
She said the gown was designed to allow Nigeria’s identity to shine through her appearance on the international stage.
According to her, the outfit was created to let Nigeria “speak without saying a word,” with each detail reflecting the national flag and the country’s support throughout her journey.
“As I take this final walk, I do so with immense pride — knowing that wherever I go, Nigeria goes with me,” she added.
The Bayelsa representative also unveiled her national costume, which was inspired by the “Amazon of the Mangrove.”
She said the costume pays tribute to the strength of women, the cultural richness of the Niger Delta and the relationship between its people and their environment.
“It’s a story deeply rooted in home. It represents the resilience of my people and a piece of the place that shaped me,” Karibi-George said.
Karibi-George secured a place in the Top 40 after emerging winner of the Top Model for Africa title on August 28.
She defeated contestants from Equatorial Guinea, Botswana, Kenya and South Africa to claim the continental title.
Ahead of the finale, the Federal Government urged Nigerians to support Karibi-George by voting for her.
The Minister of Art, Culture and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, commended the contestant’s performance and called on Nigerians to rally behind her.
Karibi-George was crowned Miss World Nigeria on June 6 at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos, where she emerged ahead of 19 other finalists.
She succeeded Joy Mojisola Raimi as the national titleholder.
The Miss World grand finale is scheduled for 7pm Vietnam time on Saturday, with 111 delegates expected to compete for the crown.
The outgoing Miss World, Opal Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand, will make her final appearance before crowning her successor.
The event will be hosted by the 66th Miss World, Stephanie del Valle, and reigning Mr World, Danny Mejía.
In Africa, the finale will be broadcast live by Canal+ and MultiChoice, while viewers in regions without television coverage can watch on demand through the official Miss World platform.
