Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has signed into law three executive bills aimed at tackling political thuggery, illegal mining and drug abuse across the state.
Speaking at the TY Danjuma Government House in Jalingo, Governor Kefas said the enactment of the laws became necessary to protect the state from acts of lawlessness and other criminal activities.

The governor said that, as the chief security officer of the state, he has a responsibility to protect the lives and property of residents and maintain peace and public order.
Governor Kefas stressed that his administration would not fold its arms and allow criminal activities, political violence and other forms of lawlessness to destabilise the state.
