Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN), Kano, has received full accreditation for three of its computing programmes from the National Universities Commission (NUC) following an assessment conducted late last year.
In a statement signed by its Acting Director of Public Relations, Media and Internal Affairs, Jibril Ado Dandawaki, the university said the approval was conveyed in a letter dated April 7, 2026.
Dandawaki said the accreditation exercise, carried out in October and November 2025, cleared Computer Science, Cyber Security and Software Engineering for full status.

He noted that the decision shows the programmes have met national requirements, adding that “full accreditation signifies that the programmes have satisfied standards in curriculum, staffing, infrastructure and learning resources.”
The statement explained that the accreditation will remain valid for five years, in line with the commission’s guidelines, indicating that the programmes would be subject to periodic review.
SolaceBase reports that the university management expressed appreciation to the proprietor, governing council, vice-chancellor, staff and students, noting that their contributions made the achievement possible.
He added that the milestone further reflects the institution’s focus on building strong academic programmes in technology-related fields.
The university also assured parents and prospective students that it would continue to uphold academic standards while expanding its programmes, as it seeks to contribute to the development of skilled manpower in the country.
