Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN) has commemorated the eighth anniversary of the death of its founder, Sheikh Isyaku Rabiu, describing him as a visionary leader whose legacy continues to inspire generations.
In a statement issued on Thursday by KHAIRUN Acting Director of Public Relations, Media and Internal Affairs, Jibril Ado Dandawaki, in Kano, the university said the late Islamic scholar, businessman and philanthropist passed away on May 7, 2018, in London after a brief illness.
SolaceBase reports that the institution said Sheikh Isyaku Rabiu made significant contributions to education, commerce, humanitarian services and the promotion of Islamic values across Nigeria and beyond.

According to the statement, the founder’s ideals remain deeply rooted in the university’s commitment to academic excellence, moral discipline, community service and the advancement of knowledge for societal development.
The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, on behalf of the management, staff, students and the entire university community, offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the late founder’s soul.
“The University community prays that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings, grants him Aljannatul Firdaus, and continues to bless and preserve the noble legacy he left behind for humanity,” the statement read.
The university added that Sheikh Isyaku Rabiu’s remarkable contributions and selfless service would continue to be remembered and cherished for generations.
