The Lagos State University (LASU) has welcomed Professor Ayodeji Olawunmi Badejo as its 10th substantive Vice-Chancellor.
Badejo assumed office on Monday, September 21, 2026, becoming the Chief Executive and Academic Head of the university.
LASU announced her assumption of office in a post on X, describing the development as a significant milestone in the institution’s history and the beginning of a new administration.
The university said the new administration would build on the achievements of previous administrations while pursuing new pathways for growth, innovation and excellence.

“As Professor BADEJO takes up the mantle of leadership, the University community looks forward to her experience, vision and commitment in advancing LASU’s core mandates of teaching, research, innovation and community service,” the statement said.
The university management, Senate, staff, students, alumni and other stakeholders welcomed Badejo and expressed their readiness to support the new administration.
LASU also wished the new Vice-Chancellor a successful tenure marked by purposeful leadership, meaningful impact and notable achievements.
