Less Than 4-Year-Old Kids Working At Galamsey Site Like Pros Trend On Social Media

A video showing two toddlers, both believed to be under four years old, working actively at an illegal mining site has stirred widespread concern online, with many questioning how children so young ended up exposed to such hazardous conditions.

In the footage, the two young children can be seen going about tasks typically associated with adult galamsey operators, handling equipment and materials at the site with an ease that has left many viewers both disturbed and astonished.

The toddlers appear fully immersed in the site’s activities, moving around the muddy, water-logged terrain that characterises many illegal mining locations.

Visible in the background of the clip is a woman working at the same site, believed by many who have seen the video to be the children’s mother, raising further questions about the level of supervision, or lack thereof, surrounding the toddlers as they navigate an environment known for its serious safety and health hazards.

The video has triggered a wave of reactions online, with numerous social media users demanding accountability and asking pointedly where the children’s parents or guardians are, and why toddlers of such a tender age would be present, let alone actively working, at a galamsey site.
