Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin has accepted a ₦10 million boxing challenge issued by show promoter and Iyabo Ojo’s lover, Paulo Okoye, reigniting the bitter feud between the two actresses.
Anjorin confirmed her readiness to step into the ring in an Instagram post on May 3, 2026, saying, “As at today, 3rd May 2026, I accept your challenge.” However, she added new conditions, stating that Paulo must first fight her husband, Chief Lawal, in a 10-round match before she faces Ojo.
This latest move escalates their ongoing public dispute, which has involved legal battles, accusations, and defamation claims. In 2024, Okoye had first floated the idea of the celebrity boxing match between Anjorin and Ojo, with a ₦10 million prize for the winner.
The feud between the actresses intensified in 2025 when Ojo filed a ₦1 billion defamation lawsuit against Anjorin, though the case was later dismissed. The rivalry has played out across social media, courts, and public statements, with both parties trading barbs online.
Anjorin’s acceptance of the boxing challenge comes amid a growing trend of celebrity boxing matches in Nigeria’s entertainment scene. Recently, street-pop artiste Portable lost a high-profile bout to comedian Carter Efe at a celebrity fight event in Lagos, further fuelling interest in such contests.
