A Nigerian man has sparked reactions online after sharing how he responded when a lady who previously rejected his romantic advances later asked him for ₦20,000.
The man, identified on X as @GloriousGod01, said he asked the woman out about two months earlier, but she turned him down and suggested that they remain friends.
According to him, the woman later contacted him and asked for financial help because she urgently needed the money.
He said, “About 2 months ago, I asked a lady out. She said no but offered friendship instead.”
He added, “Yesterday she texted begging for 20,000 naira. I could see how desperate she was.”
Instead of simply sending her the money, the man said he offered her a chance to earn it by helping him with some work.
“I told her to come and work for it. She did not hesitate,” he said.
However, he claimed that the woman looked disappointed when he brought out his clothes for her to wash.
He said she agreed to do the job but asked him to turn on the generator so she could use the washing machine.
According to him, he told her that using the washing machine would cost ₦3,000 for fuel, which he would deduct from the ₦20,000.
The woman reportedly refused and decided to wash the clothes by hand.
The man said his regular dry cleaner would have charged him ₦5,000 for the same job, but he still gave the woman the full ₦20,000 she had requested.
He claimed that after receiving the money, the woman expressed disappointment and told him he did not value her.
The man said he simply smiled and watched her leave, adding that he believed the experience would make her think twice before asking him for money again.
His story has generated mixed reactions online, with social media users sharing different opinions about whether his actions were fair or unnecessary.
