While waiting, he stretched across a row of connected chairs and fell asleep.
He later woke up with his neck and upper body trapped between the backrest and armrest.
The man struggled to free himself but could not move out of the narrow space.
His friend tried to help by demonstrating how he could escape.
However, the friend placed himself in a similar position and also became trapped between the chairs.
People nearby attempted to help the two men but could not pull them free safely.
Hospital security eventually arrived and dismantled part of the connected seating.
Staff removed fasteners and separated sections of the chairs before freeing both men.
Neither man reportedly suffered an injury.
Footage of the unusual rescue has spread across social media, attracting millions of views.
