Manchester United and Manchester City fans have taken to social media with contrasting predictions and messages of confidence ahead of Sunday’s first Manchester derby of the 2026/27 Premier League season at Old Trafford.
United supporters believe the home side can upset a City team that has won all three of its league matches so far, with several fans pointing to United’s counter-attacking threat and home advantage.
RedDevilsHQ wrote: “United are winning this game as the favorable underdogs, city are yet to prove themselves as the dominant force they were under pep”
Fred Agyemang expects United to sit deep and look to exploit spaces behind the City defence.
“United will definetely sit back and hit on the break whiles City will dominate the ball.Both teams will score but if United can play their cards right on the counter-attack they will cause City problems but City have Haaland and United has a really bad defence”
