Mutfwang mourns veteran journalist, Dotun Oladipo

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has condoled with the family of veteran journalist and media professional, Dr Samson Dotun Oladipo, who has died.

In a condolence message issued by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, on Thursday, Mutfwang described Oladipo as an accomplished journalist whose career contributed to public discourse, democratic development and good governance in Nigeria.

The governor praised the late journalist’s professionalism, intellectual depth and commitment to ethical journalism, noting that he also played an important role in mentoring younger media professionals.

Mutfwang recalled meeting Oladipo during one of the Nigerian Guild of Editors’ visits to Plateau State for its Annual General Meeting, describing the encounter as a cherished memory.

He said Oladipo’s death was a significant loss not only to his family but also to the Nigerian Guild of Editors, Nigerian Union of Journalists and the wider media industry.

Oladipo, who worked as a newspaper editor before becoming the publisher of Eagles Online, was also remembered by the governor for his contributions to journalism and national development.

Mutfwang, on behalf of his family, the Plateau State Government and the people of the state, expressed sympathy to the Oladipo family and members of the media community.

He prayed for the repose of the deceased and asked God to comfort his family, colleagues and others mourning his death.
