Award-winning Nigerian fashion designer, Veekee James has revealed her ambition to charge as much as $100,000 for a single dress, explaining why she has no plans to abandon fashion for content creation.
Speaking during an interview on the CreativiTea Podcast, the celebrity designer compared the long-term earning potential of her fashion business with the money available through social media brand deals.
James, who has built a prominent brand around bridal and couture designs, said she sees fashion as having greater financial potential despite the opportunities that come with content creation.
Veekee James explains why fashion remains her priority
Sharing her long-term ambition, James said, “In the next five years, I see myself making one dress for $100,000, if not more. Just one dress.”
She acknowledged that content creation could attract lucrative deals but argued that such agreements may require significantly longer commitments.
James explained, “Maybe a content creation deal could pay me $500,000, but that might be a one-year contract.”
She further stated, “The amount I can make from one, two, three, or five dresses wouldn’t even take that long to achieve. Fashion designing is my baby.”
Designer sets sights on global luxury market
Despite her growing presence on social media, James said content creation would remain a means of promoting her fashion business rather than replacing it as her primary career.
The fashion entrepreneur is ultimately looking beyond her current success, with her sights set on positioning the Veekee James brand alongside established global luxury labels.
Her remarks highlight the scale of her ambition as she seeks to transform her growing visibility into a high-value international fashion brand.

“My dream is to start charging $100k to sew one dress. I can’t make that much money from content creation. The most a brand can give you is $500k, and that’s usually for a year-long contract.”
