“My Son Had Aggregate 7 And Was Initially Placed At Achimota School But When He Went To Print The Placement Slip, He Has Been Given A Different School He Didn’t Choose— Father Laments

A father has expressed disappointment after his son’s Senior High School placement reportedly changed from his first-choice school, Achimota School, to Swedru Senior High School.

According to the father, his son obtained an aggregate 7 in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and was initially placed at Achimota School, which was his preferred choice.

However, he claimed that when they later went online to print the placement slip, they discovered that the placement had been changed to Swedru SHS, a school the student never selected.

The father said further checks revealed that one of the schools listed among his son’s choices had been replaced, raising concerns over how the change occurred.

In a video circulating online, he is seen holding the placement document while explaining the issue and calling for clarification over the unexpected change.

The development has sparked discussions among some parents and students about challenges faced during the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) process, especially when final placements appear different from the choices made during registration.
