The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB, has graduated 30 beneficiaries of its Vocational and Special Training for Youths in Field Locations, Stream 1, equipping them with practical skills and starter packs to enhance self-reliance and entrepreneurship.
The close-out ceremony, held at the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Vocational Training in Elebele, Bayelsa State, marked the completion of a three-week Human Capacity Development, HCD, programme designed to strengthen local capacity and promote economic empowerment among youths.
Beneficiaries received intensive classroom instruction and hands-on training in Catering, Food Processing, and Fashion Design, with a focus on developing both technical and entrepreneurial competencies.
Representing the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, the General Manager, Human Capacity Development, Mrs. Alexis Emelle, congratulated the trainees on successfully completing the programme.
She urged them to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to build sustainable livelihoods, create value within their communities, and contribute meaningfully to national economic growth.
Emelle reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to human capital development initiatives aimed at enhancing local content participation, creating employment opportunities, and fostering sustainable development across the country.
Also speaking, the Chief Executive Officer of Lakeview Communications, Chief Nathan Egba, and the Rector of the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Vocational Training, Dr. Agbana Zuobomudor Edwin, commended the NCDMB for the impactful intervention.
They encouraged the beneficiaries to make productive use of their newly acquired skills and embrace entrepreneurship as a pathway to economic independence.
As part of the graduation ceremony, certificates and starter packs were presented to all participants to support their transition into business and professional practice. Three outstanding trainees were also recognised and rewarded for their exceptional performance during the programme.
Emelle was accompanied by the Manager, Community-Based Training, James Eyeteigha; Manager, BIT, Nnoli Chinyelu; Assistant Manager, Khadija Jekhine; Supervisor, Nancy Inyang; and other officials of the Board.
