Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has responded to recent remarks by US Vice President JD Vance, who suggested that Israel has no powerful ally other than the United States. Netanyahu said Israel also enjoys strong support from India and has several other international partners.
Speaking in an interview with Fox News, Netanyahu said India has been a significant supporter of Israel despite criticism his government has faced over the conflicts in Gaza, Iran and Lebanon.
‘India has given us tremendous support’
During the interview, Netanyahu said, ‘We have some other friends, too, like a little country called India. It has a population of 1.4 billion, and we receive tremendous support there.’

He highlighted India’s backing while discussing Israel’s global relationships, adding that the country has received considerable support from Indian citizens.
Netanyahu responds to JD Vance
Netanyahu said he respects US Vice President JD Vance and described US President Donald Trump as Israel’s greatest friend in the White House.
However, he clarified that respect does not mean agreement on every issue.
‘But that doesn’t mean I agree with everything he says, and I need to make that clear,’ Netanyahu said.
His remarks came after Vance suggested that Israel should avoid actions that could strain ties with its strongest ally, the United States.
Israel has ‘many friends,’ says Netanyahu
Without naming any specific countries, Netanyahu said it had become fashionable in some places to post anti-Israel and antisemitic content on social media. However, he claimed that leaders of some of those same countries privately reached out to Israel to discuss agreements and seek advice on military operations.

‘So the relationships are not always what they appear to be, and we have many friends,’ he said.
Netanyahu also claimed that Israel receives significant support from India on Facebook and stressed that the country is not solely dependent on the United States for international backing.

The exchange follows comments made by JD Vance at the White House, where he said, ‘If I were in the Israeli government’s cabinet, I probably wouldn’t be picking a fight with the only powerful ally we’ve got left in the world.’
