Nigeria has formally taken its seat at the United Nations following the accreditation of Senator Jimoh Ibrahim as the country’s Permanent Representative.
Ibrahim presented his Letter of Credence on Monday at the UN headquarters, where he was received by Secretary-General António Guterres. The ceremony confirmed his status as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the global body.
Speaking after the presentation, Ibrahim conveyed assurances from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that his administration is committed to addressing long-standing national challenges. He said the government would confront what he described as “generational problems” affecting the country.
