The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced a passport intervention exercise for Nigerians in the United Kingdom, with teams from its headquarters in Abuja scheduled to attend to new passport applications, renewals and pending applications across four cities.
The Service made this known in a statement issued on Monday, August 31, 2026, by its Public Relations Officer, DCI Akinsola Akinlabi, following the deployment of a Passport Intervention Team to the UK on the directive of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
According to the NIS, the exercise was planned after consultations with the Nigerian High Commission and representatives of Nigerian communities in the UK.
The intervention will take place in London and Manchester from September 7 to 19, while applicants in Aberdeen and Cardiff will be attended to from September 21 to 26.
In London, the exercise will be held at Layali Lounge, Trent Park, Bramley Road, while the venue in Manchester is the Nigerian House, 23 Platt Lane.
Applicants in Aberdeen will be attended to at Hilton Convention Centre, 13 Smithfield Road, while those in Cardiff will use Sophia Gardens, Sophia Walk.

The NIS urged eligible Nigerians in the listed locations and surrounding areas to take advantage of the exercise to obtain new passports, renew existing ones or resolve pending applications.
The Service stressed that applicants must apply and make payments through its official passport application portal before attending the exercise.
Applicants are required to present a completed application form, payment slip, appointment slip and a self-addressed return envelope. Those seeking passport renewal must also present their current passports.
The NIS warned that applicants who arrive with cash will not be attended to.
It added that its digital passport application channels, including the Contactless Passport Application System, remain operational, while home delivery is also available.
