The National Institute for Security Studies (NISS) has commended Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for the progress recorded under the state’s coordinated peace and security framework.
The Team Lead of Executive Intelligence Management Course 19, Syndicate 4, Uduak Ituen, gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to the Kaduna State Government House on Saturday, May 2, 2026.
Ituen said the delegation was in Kaduna on a study tour aimed at bridging theory with practical realities.
Ituen said insights gained from the tour would enrich the syndicate’s research papers and contribute to actionable recommendations for strengthening Nigeria’s national security architecture.
She noted that the successes recorded under the Kaduna Peace Model earned Sani the “2026 Governor of the Year” award in March by the National Leadership Summit Group.
“The recognition speaks volumes about your commitment to security, inclusive governance and people-centred development in Kaduna State,” she said.
In his response, Governor Sani said Kaduna’s experience has shown that sustainable security goes beyond enforcement and must be anchored on intelligence, trust and inclusion.

“Through the deliberate integration of intelligence-led operations, strengthened inter-agency collaboration, and sustained community engagement, we have recorded measurable progress in restoring peace and public confidence,” he said.
The governor stressed that security and development are closely linked, noting that a lack of opportunities often fuels instability.
“Our approach has therefore been holistic – combining security interventions with investments in infrastructure, education and social welfare, to address both the symptoms and root causes of insecurity,” Sani added.
Sani described the study tour as timely and valuable, saying it provides an opportunity for knowledge exchange, critical evaluation of strategies, and the development of ideas that can shape policy at both state and national levels.
The governor added that such engagements are crucial to building a responsive and resilient security framework, urging participants to engage actively and explore collaborative solutions to enhance national security.
