Governors from the Northern part of Nigeria, as well as traditional rulers from the region, on Wednesday, held a strategic joint security meeting in Kaduna State.
The meeting was hosted by the Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani.
Naijaonpoint reports that members of the Northern States Governors’ Forum and prominent Northern Traditional Leaders, led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, were in attendance.
The high-level session, chaired by Gombe State Governor and Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, was held at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, the Kaduna State Government House.
The meeting brought together key federal security officials, including representatives of the National Security Adviser, the Minister of Defence, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS).
Also in attendance were several distinguished personalities of Northern extraction, notably former Inspectors-General of Police, retired senior military, police, and paramilitary officers, as well as former Secretaries to the Government of the Federation.
The meeting focused on curbing the challenges of insecurity facing the region and Nigeria as a whole.
