Nursing student robbed of GH¢180,000 for practical exams, says she is devastated

A final-year student of Pantang Nursing and Midwifery College in Accra has reportedly been robbed of GH¢180,000 meant for practical examination materials.

The student, Daniella Sedziafa, said the money was contributed by her colleagues to buy items required for their final practical exams.

She told Crime Check that she withdrew the cash from a bank in Madina before heading back to campus.

According to her, two men on motorbikes attacked her shortly after she arrived at the school.

She believes the attackers followed her from the bank after noticing she was carrying a large sum of money.

She said the robbers struck when she got out of a vehicle at the school car park and took the money.

The loss has reportedly affected the academic plans of the final-year students, who may now have to delay their practical examinations.

She added that she feels overwhelmed by the situation and has been struggling emotionally after the incident.

Authorities are expected to investigate the robbery as the school community calls for support and justice.
